Rivero, Mercedes (Media Specialist)

My name is Mercedes Rivero and I am the Library Media Specialist. This is my 10th year with Chickasaw Elementary. I enjoy being a part of the growing Chickasaw Family.

I have been working in the education field for 17 years. I started as a tutor in the public school system then became a  paraprofessional and substitute. I have also worked as a pre-k teacher for the Office of School Readiness Program. 

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and I am of Cuban decent. I speak, read, and write  Spanish fluently. My family and I moved to Alabama 13 years ago. I have two beautiful daughters and enjoy spending time with my family.
