Kellie Stacy
Welcome!
Hi there, my name is Kellie Stacy and I serve as an Interventionist Teacher. Before my new role, I was a fourth grade ELA/Social Studies teacher.
This is my tenth year teaching and my sixth year as a Chieftain. I taught one year in Wiggins, Mississippi as a third grade teacher. I have also taught second and
third grade at Gilliard Elementary in Mobile for three years.
I was awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. I was extremely
excited to have been chosen. I love working with the students and staff here.
I am a graduate of William Carey University, in Hattiesburg Mississippi, with a
Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education. I am also a graduate of
Bishop State Community College with an associate degree in Early Childhood
Education. I was a teacher assistant for five years in first and second grade, before
pursuing my career to become a teacher. I have taught in Mississippi and Alabama. I
have also coached, fastpitch softball in middle school, high school, and college level. I
am also the pitching coach for Chickasaw High School Softball.
Some fun facts about me: I was a college softball pitcher for 4 years and have
coached softball ever since then. I love the outdoors with hunting and fishing. I like to
go out on the boat during the summer. I have a daughter who is twelve years old and in
the seventh grade. I spend a good amount of my time helping out with my dad, since I
recently lost my mom, and traveling to different places to watch my daughter play travel
softball ball.
I look forward to working with you and your students to prepare them for the day after
graduation!
