ARI

CES and CIS are proud to be part of the Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI).  This initiative focuses on the development of high quality teaching and learning to prepare all students with the necessary literacy skills to meet or exceed grade level standards.   At CES and CIS our K- 6th grade classes have weekly lessons lead by our ARI Reading Specialist, Junelle Reid and Rebecca Moore.  Students work on grade level specific literacy skills.  Our teachers are also involved in professional development on reading and writing with the goal of increasing reading ability for all students.  Mrs. Reid and Mrs. Moore also provides intervention strategies for teachers and home resources for parents.
